do you lower the bar in front or behind your neck?
in front for me, i always hit my head when i do it behind
behind the neck = shoulder nightmare
u come down that far when you do that lift?
yep... and I dont go that high... the top part of that lift is all triceps
i feel the tension come off my delts at about my mouth
i prefer behind the neck, its a better challenge
no shoulder pressing for me
you guys should try Bradford Presses
crazy should workout
I go to the top of my chest, let it sit right above it then push back up almost to lock out and repeat.
bye bye rotator cuffs
I do my push pressing and military the same way Lou Ferrigno did in Pumping iron.
I hate seated BB shoulder press.
I do standing military presses, that shit is a core workout too
I take it to about my chin, and stop about 2-3 inches before lockout
really? i always thought it puts unneccessary stress on your shoulders if you bring it down that low, i go just below the chin, is that too high?
also how far on behind the neck presses, all the way to the traps? i go jsut below the ears when i look at the mirror
The only time I have ever hurt my shoulders in the gym was doing behind the neck press. It has taken me almost 2 years to get my left shoulder ALMOST back to normal.
I usually do heavy military style and light behind the neck, but I wouldn't really call it behind the neck since I only lower it to mid skull.
i go front and let the bar touch my upper chest.
go to the middle of your head only
front for me
i don't think you're supposed to go that low. I always go to where the arms are parallel to the ground, then back up.
but ihave small delts, so what do i know
