    What do you shoot at?

I plan to hit up some BLM land in a few weeks. I want to be prepared. I have collected a lot of jugs and water bottles. I plan to fill them up partcially and add some dry ice in them when I am ready to shoot. I figure that will make for some fun. What else do you guys do?

which BLM area you going to? The last time I was at Ukiah, we shot a bunch of pumpkins, paper targets, cans, bottles, etc. A few weeks ago I was at Panoche and brought a bunch of phone books and bottles filled with water.

I like to shoot apples and eggs since the animals clean those up.

    Ukiah. Cow Mountain.

Hmm, I guess fruits and veggies can be a good idea. I want something that will make a mess. Its a good change from punching holes in paper.

Tannerite looks interesting. So you are basically shoooting that the container that you mixed the stuff in? Can you split the container up into smaller containers. It looks like it can get expensive quickly. :o

When I lived in ND there was a shooting spot thats littered with junk. So over the years I brought a propane tank (empty), keg (again empty), TV, microwave, small dorm fridge, car door, pc, and lots and lots of beer bottles (empty of course). In canada the first time I shot outside of a range was at a ranchers property there all I shot was gophers. That was fun.

Been awhile since I've shot at a place that wasn't a range :wtc:

Wish I had a place close I could go shoot random shit.

When I was at my grandparents when I was like 13 and just bought my .30-30 we took a roll of papertowels out to the farm to shoot at. After we were done we brought it home and put it back in the closet. Later that night we heard her yelling, "Who the hell shot up my paper towels?" :mamoru:

We also use to shoot clays with this old bolt-action shotgun... which many years later we found out had a recall on it because the bolt was coming loose and hitting people in the face :noes:

We shot them off the top of this hill and shot at them. We'd them pull out the rifle and try to hit the ones that we missed on the ground below.

I just have a 4' x 4' piece of plywood that's about 1" thick. I painted a target on it, plus I have paper targets to put on it as well. I just use a thick stick to prop it up, although last time I shot through the plywood and hit the fucking stick twice, breaking it. Might have to find a new stick now. :hs:

I generally shoot apples, oranges, eggs, spent brass, if you want a nice reactive target a cleaned can from beans, veggies works well. Will help with target aqusition ( sp )

I have an gas RC car with a range of about 200 yards. Ive secured a 2" x 2" piece of wood with a point to it and stuck an orange on it and drove it around trying to shoot the orange. Great fun for shooting with a friend. Just make sure the sticks at least 2 feet taller than the truck or yo rc car will get toasted.
