When you go for your 3RM do you just warm up or do it after a workout?

The other day I decided to see what my 3RM for bench press was but I had lifted hard a few hours before hand and feel like I could have done a lot better.

It's been 2 days and I'm thinking about trying it later today :x:

    wait another day

    for me....

    bar x 15
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    315 x 2
    365 x 1

    add 3 board
    405 x 3
    425 x 3 for a 3RM

or something like that. you still need to warm up and acclimate to the weight, you can't just jump in and work up to a 3RM

    Gotcha.

I did 225 for a 3RM the other day and on my last set of bench I've been doing 195 for 5 reps.

I was pretty suprised I was able to do 225 3 times. I don't really push my bench because I work out at home and 99% of the time I don't have a spotter.

I'm gonna try today and see what I can do :x:
