When you bench ...

    how far do you let the bar come down? Do you let it touch your chest?

    I don't like the bar to touch my chest ... I let it come about the width of a fist from the top of my chest, maybe slightly lower. Anything more than that seems to put a lot of strain on the shoulders.

    well i pop an animal pak and call upon the power of satan to pull it straight through my chest until the will of jesus trys to lift it back through me. sometimes it gets stuck in the middle and clouds swoop over and it begins to thunder. its pretty cool though, jesus gets to spot me and i get a badass work out

    well, that seems to be the nature of my workout this past month ... think i'm doing something right, and i find out it's not. now i'll have to drop the weight down again and screw up my log. :hsd:

    I let the bar down fast and let it "bounce" off my chest so that I can do more weight. :o





    but seriously, I let the bar all the way down.

    When I'm going as heavy as I can which is rare, I stop ~.5" before my chest. Both of my rotator cuffs are torn and its the only way I can do it. My regular bench involves a pause on my chest though.

    Translation: I am a pussy with too much sand in my vagina to bench properly. I am not ANIMAL enough. I would bench with a full range but halfway through the rep my wife called and needed me to pick up some tampax so I had to stop short.

    so the other day I popped my animal pack just before my chest workout and I could feel it start to kick in after my warm up on bench. I see all these pussies who don't go all the way down to their chest so I decided to show these bastards how its done. I was slaming the bar into my chest, with every rep I slammed it harder.. I could hear my ribs shattering but the animal in me just say KEEP GOING! I ripped out 25 reps and by the time I got to 15 shattered parts of my ribs were coming through the skin on my chest. I racked the weight, stood up and stabbed the desk attendant in the eye with a part of my shatterd rib cage and screamed ARE YOU ANIMAL ENOUGH!!!!??

    A guy at the gym last night was lowering to about six inches from his chest. :greddy:
    (its too bad he was "benching" twice what i was :mamoru: )
