I find myself totally spent by the time I get to my second or third to last workout, have to really drop the weight and push to get those done. I'm not talking muscle exhaustion but energy depleted ... like I'd been doing cardio or something. This is especially true on leg day.

What do you guys do when you are exhausted and still have more to do? Right now I drop the weight real low and go through the motions just to get it done, but not sure if that is pointless or not. Can't decide whether to cut back on # of exercises or to not go as hard for the first few workouts.

FYI: I'm doing pur's routine over three days day 1: back/chest 2: arms, shoulders 3: legs. I drink a lot of caffiene and eat well before hitting the gym. I also don't wait a lot of time between sets (45 seconds or a minute usually, so maybe that is causing a prob?).

That's exactly where I was today when I really wanted to throw in the towel.. I just did 3 sets of 10 lunges (5 per leg) with 30 lb dbs.

So if something is hard you just don't do it? The results acquired in the gym is directly correlated with the amount of effort (read: heart/balls) you put in.

Just finish. Everybody gets run down.. can't just leave and go home. Finish what you're doing. Go to the gym everyday like it's the last day to train and bust your ass. No half assing in the gym.. in my opinion I'd rather just stay home than half ass a workout.

Improve your conditioning, which should get a little better over time anyway.

Cut the caffeine intake and only drink it when you really need it?

maybe i am just a little out of conditioning. I was realy sick for 3 weeks straight until about two weeks ago. I would get tired before I got sick, but it comes on earlier now. I almost always finish, but wondering if it is pointless to do low weights just to get it done. For example, if I normally curl 35lb dbs for reps, is it pointless to drop down to 20 or 25 lbs just to get it done?

might be your breathing too - if you're breathing shittily during exercises you're going to feel twice as tired by the time you get to your last few. At least that's what happens to me.

That's what I do as well. All the times I have bitched out and gone home, I have always regretted it. The times I stay and tough it out feel so much better after I am done.
