When testing for STDs...

    what does it test for?

    do you have to request for other types of diseases?

    The list of diseases that fall under the catagory of STD is rather large. For instance: Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Human Papilloma Virus, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Herpes, HIV, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardeneralla vaginalis, yeast, lice, scabies, and some would even include pregnancy.

    This list is not all inclusive. There is no single test for STD, and not all diseases are tested for using the same type of sample or specimen. You should have a very frank (and completely honest) discussion with your health care provider in order to determine which, if any, tests that you might need to have performed.
