Pride in the USA. when is this happening?
fedor is fighting coleman and randleman is fighting shogun in pride vegas.
Edit: Show is on the 21st of october
I assume they're still fighting in a ring?
why no elbows to downed opponents?
Pride has never had elbows.
elbows can cause massive cuts which can cause a TKO for an opponent even if he wasnt loosing the fight.
in reality its better that theres no elbows, so theres no bullshit of someone getting a lucky win because they were able to cut someone good.
ala kenny florian, the master cutter.
Oct 21. I'll be there
Elbows don't always cut and can have devastating knock out power on the ground. Yeah there are always incidents where people lose because of a cut, but really most UFC fights don't end that way. Footstomps and soccer kicks were always a little ghetto in my opinion, but I don't think either should be cast aside and labeled stupid so easily. They're both apart of MMA as whole whether an organization allows it or not.
I used to be very much for elbows, but seeing more guys specifically trying to cause a cut I've backed off that a little. Right now I could take or leave them.
So we get the worst of both worlds instead of the best?
If this event is going down in vegas then yeah I guess we are getting the worst rules.
In my opinion, knees to a downed opponent can also open some nasty cuts, I wonder why they allow those in pride but no elbows.
Elbows open bloody cuts waaay more frequently than knees
I wonder if using light elbow pads would prevent cuts. You can still get knockout power but id guess that cuts would be minimized...someone should test that...
