I know traditional Chinese martial arts may not translate well to modern MMA, but with such a large population...something is bound to happen. :coolugh:

Once they get over that "too deadly for the ring" attitude and start training seriously I think it will happen fast. Its too bad the majority of them seem to believe that kung fu is so effective soley based on movies.

the training environment doesnt really exist in china. there arent a lot of places to learn how to properly grapple, or strike. And im pretty sure the average person has learning how to fight as the last thing on their list.

Out of ALL those people in china, there has to be some who want to know how to fight

most definitely, but i guess the chances of making it big are too slim, and investing your livelihood to doing so isn't exactly the best choice

once MMA gets bigger and pays more, or at least gets big enough where the chinese government pushes the sport more so that their country can be on top (like certain other sports in the past), then i don't foresee it anytime soon. at most, random people from canada and the US might make it, like denis kang (if he's chinese)

that was one of the most random rants i've spewed in quite some time
