    a) Tears of the Sun
    -- good action
    -- no horribly stupid scenes
    -- great story/moral
    -- monica Belluci

    b) Black Hawk Down
    same

    c) Platoon
    -- dark
    -- written by a vet
    -- good

When I think I'm having a shitty day I remember the line from "Tears of
the Sun" -- 'It's time to cowboy the fuck up and be a man'

Never seen Tears of the Sun. Getting it now in HD :coold:

Platoon is such a great movie, one of the best 'Nam movies of all time.

Saving Private Ryan-Top 10 movies ever made IMO

Assault on Precinct 13-Horrible movie but good action/shooting

Lord of war-Solid movie not as much shooting as you'd think

    Boondock Saints-Fucking love this movie

Boondock Saints (haven't seen it in a while, though)
    The Kingdom

Collateral, if just for the the nightclub and mugging scenes
shooter (thought book > movie, always)
Not a movie, but the TV show, "The Unit" is better than a lot of shoot-em-up movies. I've also found the gunplay in "Burn Notice" to be more-not accurate, but how would you say-less insulting to my intelligence.
I thought some of the stuff in Ronin was decent, plus high speed e34 M5 chase ftw :wackit:
    Oh, hell: Tombstone. Yeah.

But if I'm really in the mood for that kind of entertainment, I'll read Stephen Hunter or Tom Clancy (particularly Rainbow Six).

How was the kingdom? I thought about seeing it, but it looked like more of a political statement than a movie.

speaking of which--I hope no one here wastes/wasted their time and money on "Death Sentence". That thing sucked more ass than a colonic.
