when i click on "get info" for a .png i want use as an icon, it shows the .png icon

    instead of a thumbnail of the actual image. i wouldnt care exept that i want to change my xp partition's icon :hs:

    i've found this too.

    there are 2 ways of doing this, one is long and retarded, and the other is really easy.

    open the picture you want to make into the icon, and click shift-ctrl-cmd-4 and select the area of the picture you want to make into the icon. this will copy the selection to the clipboard. now go into the info for your xp partition and click the icon in the top left corner like you normally would, and press cmd-v to paste the picture in as an icon.

    just tried that, it pastes it with a white background even though the png has a transparent background :ugh:
