anyone here just rest a minute between sets?
My reps are pretty pathetic doing so.
I dont even think I can do one of those
yeah... i try to do the ones where i put my head in front of the bar...
first set = ok
second set = meh
third set = piss poor
fourth set = lucky if i can get more than 3
I've been experimenting with staggering my sets... doing low reps for a few sets between higher reps sets.
Today though it was... 15,5,5,5,8,5,5
Last time I did that it was 12,6,10,6,8,5 and 5.... today I just seemed to have no energy as well.
rest is always longer as sets go on.
sometimes i offset by varying grips.
wide, narrow, chins. repeat.
reps look like yours tho
15, 12, 8, longer break, 12, 6-8, break, chins for 12, 8, break, lol..
I do 10-12, then sets of 5 after that. Don't really know when I should start adding weight
yea i hate doing wide grip chins
its hard for me to breathe while doing them, body gets all tensed up or something
15 is pretty damn good for wide grip
minute? no. maybe 2-3 minutes tops. I'm not only doing wide grip to the back and i'm getting 4 sets of 10-12...
just yesterday I hit 12, 12, 9, and 7
i go 90 seconds in between
I go like... 5-3-3-2
12 reps, 60 second rest.. 10 reps...60 second rest.. 10 reps (sometimes i try to push out another 2)
damn you skinny little bastards, I thought it was an accomplishment to pull of 10 wide grips
It is, at your weight...but when someone weighs 170 not so much.

oh, and b/c im short, i have advantage so i can bench more too..

i go 3 sets w/ 2-3min rest inbetween
first: wide grip
second: shoulder width grip
if i do them as my first workout i can do 4 sets of 8 usually. if i do them after deadlifts i can barely get 4 reps in the first set.
I'm gonna experiment with keeping all my sets to 5 reps and see how many sets I can do with one minute rest.
wow, we have a suprisingly large amount of rookie lifters bangin out high rep wide grip chins.
Lately I have been doing a set of 8-10 widegrips with a 50lb db between my legs then I will drop it and bull off another 5-8 or keep it and do a static hang for 30 seconds or so. My damn lats just wont grow as fast as I want.
that's really damn strong
I usually do 4 sets of 8 - 12 reps, each hand about 6" wider then shoulder width. I also use straps though. I found I can usually get a couple more reps with straps and my arms don't fatigue as quickly as if I don't use them.
I hate doing widegrips but they sure do work my back pretty damn well, I havent done any in months though (slacker.)
