When do you think smaller/other companies will take on new format players?

    When do you think companies like marantz, denon and so on will be developing new format disc players? long time? has anyone seen any press releases about anything like this? just wondering

    Onkyo was supposed to have a HD DVD player for release this fall but Ive heard it was shelved

    Denon will not release a player until one format has been standardized.

    Pioneer Elite has a Blue Ray player in the works...

    I think it is out now too.... IIRC....

    When I think of true non-mainstream I think of Arcam, Rotel, Ayre, Naim, etc.

    I have a feeling that it is probably going to be longer than a year before they pick up the rights to be able to produce the players.
