i know alot of people here have used the christophers routine as a good base building program, myself included. ive done it for about 4 months now and am totaling near 1000lbs now... im amazed at how much strength ive gained, but wondering when i should change the routine to something else... like maybe focusing on different muscle groups each day 5 days a week like i used to... :dunno: this routine has done me wonders, but im feeling like i need to change it up to increase my deadlift....

why would you go from a perfectly good strength routine unless you had stoped making gains? And if you are training mma, you won't have much luck training one body part at a time as it will severy fuck up you martial arts training.

edit: i still do similar training to that routine I just periodize it correctly

yeah the thing is that im not making any progress in my deadlift... so what i have been doing this week to try and change that is incorporate more goodmornings, bent over rows, and lat pulldowns to see if that makes any difference, and im taking a break from mma to gain more strength and weight, want to be 205lbs@~9% bodyfat :hs: and im currently 185 :hs:

im going to feel it out, and most likely just do more of those back excersizes with the same routine.

if you want to just get strong and arent worried about mma for the time being then start training with a beginners style westside split.

o yeah i have a good question for you gnp... have you ever noticed a significant decrease of endurance or speed from gaining muscle... i know that youve actually lost wieght since football, so this might now be a easy question to answer, but my thai trainer is very against me trying to gain wieght for fear of me losing speed.... its hard finding a balance between strength and speed, but so far i can tell that the lifting is has increased my striking power /retardrant

    speed no, endurance yes

muscle needs to be fed oxegyn....hence more muscle the harder you have to train to be in good enough fighting shape. I am faster because of how I lift. I beleive in the saying "lift slow be slow, lift fast be fast"
