What age did you start working out?
Best personal achievent from hitting the gym?
I started goofing off with weights in the 9th grade.
I think the coolest thing I've done is a measly 285 benchpress at 170 lbs... but that was before i came here and learned there are other muscles besides the upper body.
like 9th grade. i would go all out in the gym while eating only 1000cal for the day. Then i blamed it on my genetics and cried myself to sleep.
10th grade. I remember I used to go to the rec center with my buddy after school, we would do arms and chest like every other day.
i started in 10th grade but have been going off/on

First lifted for football in 9th grade. Injured my back and stoped for a year. Started up again in 10th grade, but I just did benchpress and curls with a shit diet. Started to swim and stoped working out completely. Started up for the 3rd time in march last year and have been lifting seriously as well as tracking my diet since then.
Not early enough.
I started going to the gym about 5 years ago. (about 24 years old)
I started trying to "lift" about 2 years ago.
Someday, I may actually graduate to knowing what I'm doing and being able to execute on that knowledge.
Typical story here too. Lifted in 11th and 12th grade, actually did squats too!
Then off/on for a few years. Last year I had a lot of changes in my life and decided it was time to get my ass in gear. I've been lifting seriously again since November or so and it will be a lifelong commitment this time. Lifting is my fountain of youth.
started in 9th grade, started in 12th grade (both on/off and a total waste of time)
i actually started lifting seriously fall 2005
quasi-seriously ~9 years
freshman year of college, im a junior now
curl bench curl pushdown'd from 11th grade - freshman year
seriously about 7-8 months ago, after i started reading F&N and realizing how much of a douche i was with training
i was just thinking about why i stopped before etc...mostly had to do with just being lazy and not seeing results. now i know that it was because of my horrible diet + not really knowing what i was doing. i doubt i could stop training now though..the more i learn and stronger i get the more lifting attracts me, and i doubt i will ever stop unless i get injured

When I was in 6th grade I used to just do curls with those concrete york plates. My father had bought them mostly for my oldest brother though he never did use them. Around 13 I started following the wall charts that york provided. And the year after would just work out here and there on the Universal at school. It was at 16 or 17 before I finally did get a bench and iron plates.
a little over a year ago. weight when i started out as a fat ass was close to 200lbs, went down to 165, now am at 188ish of semi fat assness.
edit - @ 28
started fucking around like at 14(but worked hard) then I started seriously at 15.
around april of 04
Worked out when I was in 10th grade, stopped for a while and then started again Freshmen year of college. I think my biggest accomplisment has been going from a twigy 125lbs (I'm only 5 6"-5 7") to around 150-155. I don't really put too much importance on HOW much I bench/lift but more on how good my form is so I'm more "cut" than big, I guess. Also keeping my body fat at the same level or lower throughout was a plus.
a long time ago
a little bit in highschool, then stopped. started again freshman year of college(at age 19) and stopped for some reason. started back up again last summer(at age 22) and have been going strong since. ive put on roughly 15lbs and my lifts have gone up dramatically.
Started in highschool at 17. I pretty much just did bench and messed around on machines. I stopped working out at 18.
Then me and my dad got a gym membership 1 year ago. If it wasn't for f&n I probably wouldn't do deadlifts or squats. Good thing i found this place.
bout 2 years.
