I've started cutting 200-300 calories off my diet on my two off days. I figure I'm not working out and burning those calories, so I may as well not have them. Thoughts?

I cut carbs more than training days. I've never bulked though.

I'm thinking about cutting carbs and calories. My current averages for both (after almost a month) during my cut are:

    Calories: 2420
    Carbs: 172

I'm thinking of dropping those to 2200 and 130 respectively on off days.

    I eat 2200 cals/day, 180g carbs, 220g pro, 66g fat (i think this is right)

on lifting days i have an extra protein shake after lifting, not included in the 2200

I don't have a PWO meal on off days, so carbs stay right around 100g or less

    otherwise it hovers over 150-160

Yeah, I definitely cut carbs down to 100 or less on days off. Normally around 180 on lifting days.

i read that some people will change their calories by as much as 500 cals on a day to day basis, something about shocking the body and preventing platues.

as far as eating less on your off days... I would think that would be counterproductive, as all the muscle growth takes place on your days of rest.
