I can count calories pretty well when at home, and making my own food, but what do you do when you go out and eat a meal that you're not really familiar with (calorie-wise). For example I had some crawfish etouffee for lunch, but I have no idea how many calories it was (and what the p/c/f breakdown is).

When trying to count calories and keep track of ratios, what should I do in these cases? Just take my best guess? :sad2:

if your trying to count calories you will bring all your meals or do like I do when I go out. 99% of casual dining places will cater to anything you want (for return business) lean steak, some type of plain steam green vegetable, and rice.

if your that concerned with it, you wont eat out.

    Is it in yet?
I eat the meal, then continue with my diet.

one meal wont kill you, as long as it's not everyday.

i look up stuff from teh restaurant online before i go. and if its a spur of the moment thing, then i just try to pick something that seems healthy then look it up once i get home. its just one meal, but i'm kinda anal about my calorie counting. if i'm going to bother counting calories at all, then i'm going to be sure to get every last one. its not exactly necessary to be that anal to lose weight, just hte way i am personally.

I only eat out once a week and that's on my cheat meal/day (not really a day, but I eat slightly more lax then my cheat meal on that day).

well I'm trying to gain weight so I guess it'd be better for me if I just exclude that meal and make up for it at home :noes:
