My sister has purchased a 2002 Honda Civic EX, she has had it about 3 months. When would be enough time to wax it down. I know you have to let the paint dry completely. But just wanted to ask the pro's on these matter.

Thanks, Mike, glad your car looks good!

You can wax a new car almost immediately-the factory bakes the paint at around 550 degrees and that cures the paint pretty much during the baking process. When a car is repainted, they can only bake them at around 160 degrees so they don't ruin your tires and battery, so it takes anywhere from 30-90 days for the paint to fully cure.

Just FYI-never let the dealer do any prep to your car. Don't even let them take the plastic off the seats or even wash it. Don't get the courtesy wash when it is serviced, either. Just how good of a job do you think they are going to do on a 'free' wash?
