You should always work the muscle to failure, each workout?

Ah ok. Well I was always told that your last set and last few reps should be just barely doable

u do sets 3x10 3x12 etc or more of whatever weight.

Good to know. How does one know what exercises to do progressing weight for?

Like if I was doing squats,

Should i do 5 sets of 5 at a fixed weight, or up the weight after each set

im not that one toask. i just started working out, but i know not to do every exersice to failure.

i believe some would say fixed weight then add on weight later on

then others would say each set decrease weight (so ~200, 150, 100, 90, 50, 20 etc)
