I'm interested to see who here has had professional training, and from whom? I want to take as many classes as I can while I have as much free money as I do right now.

My list is small but Ive only been 21 for 2 months and I should have at least 3-4 more classes by the years end.

    - General Defensive Handgun, Insights Training Center

    After this weekend Ill have

    - Defensive Handgun, Firearms Academy of Seattle

also have Intensive Handgun Skills and Advanced Defensive Handgun Skills planned for in September, would like to get into more unarmed self defense classes, defensive folding knife and handgun retention/disarming classes also.

I've had formal and informal training from numerous professional trap and sporting clays shooters over the years...

40 hour initial firearms certification course for pistol
since that course, have had to re-qual 10 times

Rifle and shotgun thrown in as well, 24 hours each including re-qualifying when necessary

No other classes, though I would like to take some :hs:

ETA: LOTS of personal shooting, but that's not the point of this thread :o

Basic Handgun Saftey and Defensive Handgun 1 at Oregon Firearms Acadamy.

I've got a couple more planned for this year, I've been extremly happy with my training at OFA, I just havent had much time at all off work in the last few months.

How is OFA? We are pretty fortunate up here in the PNW with some awesome schools :bigthumb:

They even have a defensive course designed for glocks :big grin:

OFA is great, They all have a great attitude, lots of knowledge and a great private range and classroom. They almost have too many classes :o I can't make up my mind what I want to take next. I'll be taking quite a few more classes from OFA but I feel that getting training from other schools might have its benifits too, so if you have one or two that you really like, let me know!

OFA's an excellent facility. I've taken ~15+ courses from them over the past few years.

I also instruct their part time when my schedule allows, but FWIW I PAID for all of those classes with my own money before going onto the other side of the line.

I've also taken (2) courses from Jim Jacobe in Salem, OR. I wasn't very impressed with his range work, I did like his classroom lectures tho.

Training is stupid. More guns will keep you safer.
