I'd like one just to be part of my collection. Ammo is expensive and hard to find. Self-defense ammo is probably nonexistent too. Not to practical as your only gun

Yep, not really any good for carrying, ammo is expensive, not that good for defense, for an ocassional range toy if you got the cash to spend sure.

  13. The 5.7 round is only effective with sufficiant velocity behind it, it's much the same as the M16 M4, the M4 doesn't have the velocity thats needed for it to be a devastating round and this is why so many people are complaining about it saying it takes numerous rounds from the M4 to drop a 140 pound man.

:werd: the p90 works good for the 5.7 cause it can put alot of rounds on target quick, the pistol is pretty useless imo, only good for pissing off the brady bunch which is the only reason I'de buy one, cause they dont want me to have it.

  15. Oh don't get me wrong, the old batch of FN rounds that were made that were in the 2000+ fps range worked perfectly for the P90 and the FN Pistol, its the new low velocity rounds that are out now that don't hold up to the 5.7's original purpose. If they were still selling the old ammo there would be nothing wrong with this round at all. We took some of the old hollowpoints and shot straight through a level 3 vest at 50 yards with the stuff, in my opinion thats pretty straight forward.

Nice, havnt seen that many tests with the original ammo read a couple on the new ammo and it was pretty piss poor. Wonder if its possible to reload some close to the quality of the old stuff.

  17. I have no idea, it's horrible that they ruined a perfectly good round.

Exactly. The only thing tiny calibers like this and the .223 have is velocity.

.17HMR is loaded with bullets that are about half the size of most of the 5.7x28 loads and is slower with half the energy. .22mag on the other hand is loaded with similar weight bullets but again is slower and has about half the energy.

Body armor doesn't do a cop much good if he's shot in the head....no matter the caliber
