What's wrong with this web form?

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by HamrWebDesign, Jan 7, 2005.

  1. I'm trying to add a feedback type form to a web site I'm doing. I used this same script in the past and it worked great.

    The form is located here:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/Golf.htm

    It works fine and sends the user to a confirmation page located here:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/GolfConfirmation.htm

    and it pastes the results here for me:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/GolfResults.htm

    Problem is, when I try to duplicate this code in any way it doesn't work.

    For example:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/Golf1.htm

    These pages:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/Golf.htm
    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/Golf1.htm

    are exactly the same. WTF ... why would one work and not the other?

    With:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/Golf1.htm

    I get the following error:

    Not Found

    The requested URL /--WEBBOT-SELF-- was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Apache/1.3.31 Server at www.professionalwholesaleauto.com Port 80

    Also if I try to add an image and change the background color etc. it stops working.

    For example:

    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/carfinder1.htm
    http://www.professionalwholesaleauto.com/carfinder2.htm

    I'm really confused. HELP! :)

    Compare what you have for. It is wrong on some on all the pages except the one that works

    U-File="C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Ebay Sales\Wholesale Auto\Web Form\GolfResults.htm"

    action="_vti_bin/shtml.dll/Golf.htm" onSubmit="" webbot-action="--WEBBOT-SELF--"
    The form action between the two forms are different.

    Learn how to copy and paste before you start html.

  6. The carfinder1.htm page is the only one that is messed up as you pointed out. The Golf1.htm and carfinder2.htm are fine but still don't work????

  7. Thanks ... I knew another set of eyes would help. I've been staring at this too long!

     <form method="POST" action="_vti_bin/shtml.dll/Golf.htm" onSubmit="" webbot-action="--WEBBOT-SELF--">

    golf1.htm
    Code:
    <form method="POST" action="--WEBBOT-SELF--" onSubmit="">

  9. :rofl: I know how to copy and paste. It's more of an issue with FrontPage messing up my code then it is me not pasting the code correctly.

    Agreed. Frontpage is the biggest piece of crap in the world.
