I was going to pick up some ON whey today but when I went and looked at the ingredients i noticed some of it was derived from soy, specifically Soy Lecithin. Now, is there a difference between soy protein and soy lecithin? I've been finding conflicting answers in things i've been reading. Some say soy lecithin still has protein along with the dreaded estrogen effects that all of us are worried about, some say its a sludge left over from soy processing that has essentially no protein and only phospholipids.

Can anyone clear up what exactly soy lechithin is? Thanks.

Edit: The more i search the more I find it's just phospholipids like PC, PE and PI.

    soy lecithin is an emulsifier

emulsifiers keep ingredients in a product from separating

peanut butter (not natural) uses emulsifiers to keep the oil and peanut butter from separating

candy (e.g. chocolate) has soy lecithin in it to keep the cocoa butter from separating from the chocolate
