This all started because I thought my old power supply is dead. Pretty sure it is. Got a new power supply, but now when I plug everything in, nothing will turn on. The power supply turns on fine though when I jump it using a paperclip. Is the motherboard dead? Is there any ways to test whether it took my video card and CPU with it?

    halp?

was your "old" power supply really old? It sounds like you had somethin go through and bust everything up. You don't have any LEDs on the motherboard that might light up when its plugged into the power supply?

The power supply doesn't turn on when its plugged into the motherboard, meaning nothing is getting power. My old power supply was 2 and a half years old.

Double check for other cords to be connected to the mobo. This happened to me once when my computer wouldn't start and i brought it to a shop and the guy saw that one cable was not connected. I felt really dumb

Yeah, other than checking cords, could very well be a bad motherboard
