35mm 1.4 minor nick on front glass, does not affect image quality, AF/Mf switch is missing. Always on AF. Focus screen has crack, focus goes from only 2ft to infinity - $$$ accepting all offers

Sounds like there's a lot wrong with that lens.

I'd still lowball the shit out of him and if it didn't work, send it in to canon for a repair.

Sounds like a barrel (no pun intended) of problems that would wind up costing you nearly as much to fix as it would be worth used including parts, labor, calibration and shipping.

I don't know about Canon, but when I had to repair my Tamron 17-50 (I dropped it) it cost me easily what it would have cost to just get another used one and all they did was replace the aperture blades, front ring and calibration. But, the 35L is a lot more expensive so maybe it would be worth it. 2-300 is about the MAX I would pay for that lens. Remember: there's a reason the guy is selling it.

    True...thanks!

From googling around....i've seen people pay 150ish to replace the front element and another 150ish for the AF/MF switch.

    Not too terrible.
