I used to have a '95 Horizon gray civic and removing scratches wasn't a problem. It's like that paint was more durable. Now, having an '06 silver accord, it seems that it tends to scratch easier and show more.

I should have gotten white!

Silver tends to be a very forgiving color. You should be able to polish it and at least hide the scratches very easily. It's not like black, which shows every imperfection on the paint.

I tend to think of colors in terms of potential to shine. Since i'm a detailer, I look at the color and think of where I can get it when it's prepped properly, not how easily it looks bad when neglected.

I suppose the easiest color to keep looking good is white. Black is the hardest, but when cleaned up, black easily looks the best.

Darker metal flakes are also amazing, and some middle reds and blues are badass when cleaned up too.

I hate working on flat tan cars. They're the worst for me. They never look clean, always look dated, and the color is so boring it doesn't pop, no matter what you do to it.

red cars look good the day they leave the lot...if you don't have a covered parking space the red will turn into dark pink, then pink, then soft pink...:(

White is a pain too. Usually extremely hard paint and can be very difficult to get swirl free. Plus it shows dirt. Silver is great, even when it is dirty it still looks halfway decent.

I think my Red paint has gotten darker :coold:

Over 8 years old and still looks great.

I love a dark liquid gray. Especially with chrome rims. Looks hot, and never looks dirty :yum:

My next car will be silver on black if I can find that combo on what I want. Black interiors hide stains well.

My belief is that any non-metallic color is a pain to deal with. Having the metallic element to the paint tends to distract one's attention from scratches/swirls, whereas on solid colors those defects stand out like a sore thumb.

Black is worst. White is actually second worst because every bug, tar, sap stain shows. Claying a white car takes a very long time because contaminants are so visible--10 min. on the front bumper and hood alone!

Silver and gold are walks in the park. Many times a quick hand wax is enough to make the paint look great.

Hmmm, I was really wanting black for my next car, but I guess it'd make more sense to go with silver.

VW's black looks pretty flat black to me, no metallic so it's gonna be that much harder to keep up I guess.

A man that owns a body shop told me that silver is the worst color to have. It deteriates quicker than any paint.
