MIL what's the wear out date for the BDU?

    From the hearsay around here, there is no more wearout date for the BDU, and you are required to maintain two complete sets. That does not include the boots, as the desert boot can now be worn with them.

    the desert boot can only be worn under the Commander's discretion with the BDUs. You are not allowed to wear desert boots with BDUs to most military schools. There is currently no wear out date, but companies are beginning to stop making BDUs, so Commanders can not require you to wear and maintain a few sets of BDUs.

    Why would they stop making BDUs already? The Navy still uses them and they don't have a new camo uniform yet.

    with the army not giving them out anymore the demand isn't as high so they don't need as many companies making them.
