What's the trick in deadlifting hex plates?

    I thought that I've read about a trick to doing this over the years, but I can't seem to remember. My gym recently changed all of their circular plates to the hex, and those suck for deads. Any suggestions?

    you can use some 25lb plates and put them in front and behind the loaded plates so they cant roll all over the place.

    lucky i still have this from the last time someone asked. Wedge some nickels against the plates on the front and back of the weights.

    they roll hard as hell and it sucks ass when you set down a heavy deadlift and the bar rolls into your shin.. hurts and it ruins your set cause you have to shift the BB around or change your stance up.

    Keep your weight on it when you set it down, and direct it forward as it rolls.

    its not really a matter of them rolling, my gym has them and its just a pain in the ass, because when you set the weight down it can get uneven as fuck and more prone to injury when about to attempt the next set.

    im sure when you're heading into the 300 zone you really control that weight don't you? perfectly perpendicular to the floor and everything. amirite?

    apparently i do since i go back to front, but obviously you don't do deads - who the hell adjusts their deads after each rep, that's retarded.

    thanks, i'll try that. i'm jealous of the gym you go to. that potrero 24 has the platform with the bars on the lower sides. helps you go lower on deads, though i'm not sure if that's an injury risk.

    if you set it down and it's up on one of the corners so the flat part isn't completely on the ground, it's gonna roll a back or forwards until it's resting on the part that's flat

    I don't lift there anymore I'm at Bally's now... much more of a weightlifting atmosphere which I like and their plates are round and not all rusted. But I did like that gym though.

    also you haters should realize nudes was the first one to introduce the 5lb plate solution to the hex barbell rolling problem and he's pulled what... 750 or some gay shit. You should be licking his anus to make up for your stupid comments and then using your soiled tongues to french kiss my eyeballs so I can absorb some of his test through my tearducts and hopefully work up to a 205lb bench press with a raging case of pink eye.

    i pulled 465x5 and 500x1 this morning...it means jack shit. Impressive, not realy. I say 500lbs is what regular joe should be able to hit.
