$50-60 is the norm here. Use to be able to get them for $20-25. :hs:

In SA: a few of the ranges charge $20, which I've used twice. The good ol' boys gun shops, which are full of pricks, charge at minimum $50.

In Charleston: the two gun shops here charge $50 plus sales tax. Fortunately I found a FFL on Gunbroker that does them for $20 flat. :big grin:

Sidenote: How can some dealers charge sales tax and others not? :o :dunno:

Around here, I've luckily found someone doing it for $40, but many of the shops will charge $100 if they will do it at all.

$60 flat fee at my favorite shop or 10% at the closest shop. Have to love a $20 transfer fee on my P6, if only he would transfer lower receivers :wtc:

One place wanted 10% of their profit if they sold the gun themselves. Another place wanted $100. I haven't stepped foot in either place since. My local guy does it for $20 for guns under $500 and $25 for all else.

    My shop does:

    $50 Transfer Fee
    $10 Background Check Fee

I admit it is a lot, but we rarely do them considering we have some of the best gun prices in the state. The $10 fee is new and was recommended by outside sources.

And if we know you, we'd only charge $25-35.

Can you even do that, legally? Just charge whatever you want depending on who you are? :hsugh:

Well, I guess $50 isn't so bad after all, but I wish I had a "local guy" who can do it for $15 or $20.
