A&P What's the smallest aperture you can go?

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Sep 16, 2009.

  1. I was playing around with my kit lens just for shits and giggles... and @ 55mm the F stop was 36 :eek3:

How high can an F stop really go?

Macro lenses sometimes have smaller apertures available. Stick a 2x converter on one, and that's probably about as low as you can go.

    Or make a pinhole camera.

dont forget that there is a limit with lenses, just because your lens can acheive that fstop doesnt mean you should use it
