We have a dual military couple here w/kids that has never deployed and I was curious as to how this usually works? I know they have to have a proper family care plan but do both parents have to deploy and can one choose to stay back ect?
    Just wanna know all options.:hsd:

They have to activate their family care plan....it's the sole purpose of such plan.

Mil to Mil would have to use the family care plan if they were to both deploy, but with Air Force sometimes they will work in the begininng to make sure that both are not in the same deployment band. It just depends on the office and the options that they have to work with. If they are both selected to go they do not have the option to turn it down because of the kids.

We are a dual military couple .......our unit won't deploy both of us unless it's dire emergency...and if it is justified to deploy both of us our family care plan needs too be up to snuff.....

Hope to he'll they have close relatives around

So it sounds like its one of those things that different to each unit? If both parents are mission critical both go and if not the unit "can" work to keep one back on rear D?
