Ive gotta say the Ruger nighthawk. For some reason the noise bothers me a lot. whats your loudest?
Desert eagle .50
either a .44 magnum, or a 12 guage with 3" magnum rounds.
I try not make a habit of shooting guns without ear protection, but needless to say, it happens sometimes.
Surprisingly, the gun that I most remember making my ears ring really bad, was a Colt 1903 Pocket Pistol in .32acp.My ears were ringing like hell, and lasted two days. I was a little freaked out it wouldn't stop.
Shot alot of other rifles and pistols without hearing protection, but that little Colt stands out as making my ears ring the most.
my bushy 16" carbine HBAR with XM193 indoors.
my M1A outside.
Gotta go with a .44 Mag. I thought my comp'd .40 Glock was loud until I fired that damn .44...
^^^That gun at an indoor range...
it's a tie between every rifle I've shot with a muzzlebrake, they give a whole new meaning to the word loud.
A friend's AK74 (Bulgarian kit built on an OOW receiver)
Bushmaster AR-15 with an AK type brake with no earmuffs.
Did it by accident (not the shot itself, the fact I didnt have earmuffs on)
Could not hear at all out of one ear for several hours.
the rifle sounds so much quieter with its Vortex. actually its a whole different upper (which I am FINALLY getting back this week)
my Oly ar-15 makes a pretty good racket (no flash hider or brake), my M44 and M91/3- shooting 52grn training ammo are insanely loud and boomy.
i almost always have my muffs on, so nothing really stands out that much
My DSA Stg. 58 with the "bone crusher" muzzle brake. Loudest fucking rifle ever. I still need to ditch that brake for a more realistic Stg. brake since the ban ended.
Some big-ass powder-loader goose gun my buddy had. I think he packed the thing with three times the powder he was supposed to have. Left a bruise on my shoulder and dang near knocked my on my butt.
S&W .50 in 4 inch.
between stg58 with brake,ar-15 with phantom fs,ruger knighthawk(without earmuff) i cant distiquish which one was louder because it all made my ear ring like a mofo and i was temporary deaf.
my .300 RUM with muzzlebrake
ar-10 with a huge brake, outdoors
M256 main gun
I thought i remember reading that one guy was a 13b
105mm Howitzer from the front end of a Spectre... but that would be kinda unfair for this one-up based thread.
so i'll just say my 300 Weatherby Mag.
Single shot 10 gauge shotgun with a 20" barrel. It blew off my broach & earrings everytime I pulled the fucking trigger.
.357 SIG. A guy next to me at the range was shooting one of the small Glocks in this caliber, and something about the loud, snappy fucker made me want to take a sledgehammer to it.
A buddies Manlicher (sp?) straight pull 8mm. knocked the crap outa my shoulder too. Made my Mosin feel like my AR.
Loudest would have to be the 5inch gun mounted on the cruiser while in the Navy. hand held... 18" FAL with a muzzle brake... ow
