and what was the first game you played after the break?

flash games don't count, it has to be bought(or downloaded)

I have been a little over a year

a few years ago I went to school, work, ran year round for XC/track, then had snowboarding in the winter and an ulitmate league and worked 70 hr weeks in the summer.

First game I played was orange box

About a year when my xbox broke and I didn't bother getting a new one or sending it to MS.

First game I played would have been Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 I think

About four months, I was at bootcamp. Came back to Halo 3 and was disgusted...on top of that my hand-eye coordination blew. I was surprised how bad I did.

Then I played CoD4 and was amazed (especially cause I was a Marine.)

I stopped playing video games at around 18 or 19. Picked it up again 3 or 4 years later. I kind of missed the early and middle PS2 era. Can't remember the first one I picked back up.

To be honest I can't remember. I have been gaming for a long time but maybe it is time to take a break.

I do not believe video games are for children nor do they represent a childish act. It is a called a Hobby and there are a slew of hobbyists in the world. Those can include arts and crats, partying (drinking/bar), sports (playing or watching/stats tracking), working out, movies/theater, hiking/camping/outdoors, shooting/hunting, and by god even gaming can be included within these activities.

For instance, my mothers fiancée golfs once to twice a week pretty regularly. No one has ever spoke poorly of his hobby and yet he is engrossed in his hobby at least 8-9 hours a week and can exceed 20 if there's a tournament or if he plays with friends.

However, if someone who enjoys gaming as a hobby plays 10-20 hours a week... societies reaction would be quite different. Regardless if it is healthy or unhealthy (one could argue golfing extremely increases your chance of skin cancer due to ultra violet exposure), the reason people get up in arms in greatly due to the media.

I maintain between 5-30 hours of gaming a week. There are many variables that increase or decrease that number. I for one, own my own business, have a wife, a myriad of friends whom I hang out with on a consitance basis (w/o the aid of video games), and I'm pretty healthy (6'0 and 175lbs). All in all, saying that "x" isn't worth you time is irrelevant since it is all based on perspective and what you find enjoyable. You may smoke weed and mingle with friends as a hobby or enjoy backpacking through the mountains four times a year, neither of these I would enjoy...but I don't find them childish or better than what I spend my time doing. All in all, to each his own.

The longest I've gone without gaming has probably been one month and I've been playing games since I was, shit maybe five...so twenty-one years.

I went on a video game rampage a and beat like 3 new games in a week and then I got really tired of them and didn't play anything for probably 4 or 5 months. I think the first one I played after that was Infamous

When I was 18, I went backpacking with a friend through Europe for a month... no gaming at all during that month. My late teens, I wasn't so much into gaming though... kind of a lull or dry spell :hs:

Maybe a 1-2 weeks while on vacation. I always have some games around me whether they be handheld or otherwise.

Other than trolling, what is the purpose of you telling someone to grow up? Please, elaborate on "grown up" habits because it appears that your definition eludes me.
