I want to get a subscription to one so I'll have something to read while I'm doing cardio. I already get wired and popular mechanics so I figured a fitness magazine would be something different. Something with half ass decent information, nutrition, etc. I don't want something that focuses on routines, if possible.

    Thanks

I used to hate Men's Health... but someone left a copy in the bathroom, so I took a look. Was very impressed.

Was it a mixed bag of information as far as nutrition, training, recipes, etc.? I know some of the magazines also review products for guys like shaving cream and shit like that.

there's a lot of repetition in men's health in terms of routines i find... but the general articles and recipies i find are good, as they pertain more to a healthy man's LIFESTYLE rather than simply fitness

sounds good to me. I'll probably order it in the next few days if there aren't any other recommendations that seem better.

Might be best just to stop by a convenience store or book store first and leaf through one to see if it would be something for you... granted it might even be better to go to a book store and check out the fitness magazine section to see if there is anything that has been under the radar

I like muscular development since it's probably the last of the semi "hardcore" mags out there.

I think I've seen a few articles from Alwyn Cosgrove in Men's Health so that's proof it's not all garbage.

Exactly. Men's Health loves repeating some of the same shit over and over but it definitely has some good articles and nutrition tips.

Alwyn Cosgrove has an article in a couple of mine.

Its not right about everything, but its atleast a little more realistic with better perspective than the muscle mags that gurantee 5 inches in your biceps in 4 weeks.

John Berardi I know is a nutrition consultant for Men's Health. And I heard that the president of N.A.S.M has a high position in Men's Health.

I like Men's and Health and Men's Fitness. A lot of good info in there all around. The only thing I don't like is how every month is basically the same thing.

I really like Muscle and Fitness though. A lot of the same info you find in MH and MF but it is geared more towards bodybuilding... but in a more realistic sense. It is not like Flex where you just have 300 pages of ads and pro-card BB'ers. They have some of the most solid diet/nutrition/workout advice I have seen in any mag.

muscular development is awesome.. they do about 40 pages worth of research studies that come out relating to all sorts of interesting fitness/cardio/diet/anabolic shit. very cool.

i used to like muscle and fitness but all they have in there for workouts seems to be the same crap from some pro.

"here do this routine that lee labrada does and you look like him"
500 sets of squats, 500 sets curls, tricep pushdowns, etc.

they forgot to add all the horse steroids these guys are on.

MH muscle was nice but they didnt seem to do many of those. It was Men's Health geared more towards packing on muscle.
