If it's the AF-S and not AF-D, thats cheap as fuck. Buy it before they realize what they're selling.

If it's the AF-D, it's a little cheap. I got a really sharp, almost mint copy for $750.

$700 is good for the two ring version. They usually are in the $8-900 range. I've seen a few pop up on CL for $5-600 but I think those people don't know what they are worth, and they get snapped up pretty quick.

If you are in the market for one, that's a good price and won't last long.

Edit: Thought that was the AF-D :eek3: Amazing price for the AF-S.

The lenses used to be owned by Georgia-Pacific by their in-house photographer. He just switched to Canon :o and is selling all the stuff for the company. No boxes, but they do have cases.

Does the photo not work? I logged out and checked to see if it would work. Guess it's cached.

AFS has the motor in the lens. AFD uses the screw drive in the body of the camera.

af-s = silent wave motor. It's the internal focus motor, so it's faster and quieter. af-d is just a really fast screw drive.

Great price on that 17-35 too. Just check to make sure the AF motor is working properly. I've read about lots of failures with that particular lens.

    Is that 300 2.8 an AF-S or AF-I?

If it is the AF-I do not buy it. If the AF motor breaks it is unreplaceable by nikon. The going rate on those is much less than $1800. There was one on CL a few months ago in ATL that dropped all the way down to like $1400 before it sold.

As far as most of the other stuff, I stay away from AF-D mostly, and the 17-35 doesn't do you much good, you're better off with the 17-55 since you're on DX anyway.

The 80-200 AF-S is a steal, jump on that one ASAP.

Holy shit just realized it's the AF-S version. For that price I was just assuming it was the AF-D, didn't even bother looking at the picture. That is a HELL of a price :eek3:

If you don't get the 80-200 AF-S one, send me his info so I can get it. Seriously. Thanks.

Actually, send me his info anyways, I may pick up that 17-35 so I can use filters on it

I think I'm gonna pick up the 80-200 and 17-35 and flip the 17-35. Ends up that the 80-200 will cost me like $200 or so :naughty:

seriously i traded my 400 2.8 (purchased for a grand) for 17-35 and 80-200 AF-S, and pulled like 2400 out of them within a day or two. I could have easily made more money off of them, but i wanted to flip quick.
