I am looking to get some extra hard drives for my laptop, and I am wondering whether to go with Seagate or Western Digital... I have heard good things about both, but don't have enough experience with buying hard drives to know or have a preference of one over the other

i got a Sager 9280 with a 320GB that I put in it, and I am looking for some more now that i got the rest of my bonus this month..

You realise that there's only enough room for 1 hard drive inside your laptop, right?

And this being the case you want to buy a new internal hard drive? or find recommendations for external storage options?

actually the 9280 has spots for 3 hard drives...

linky - click the specs tab and look at storage

what i am looking at doing is adding 2x 500GB hard drives soon and then eventually replacing the 320GB i have with either a small solid-state drive for the OS only or another 500GB

jesus, how much does that thing weigh?

anyway, if you spent the cash for an elite laptop, why not spend another 200 for an 80GB intel g2 ssd?

weighs 11lbs, but i dont move it that often so i dont mind it weighing a ton

at the time i bought it i only had 2500 so i got it with a 320GB, but then i got surprised when i looked at my bank account a couple days later and found another 1500 in the bank... thats why i didnt get the extra hard drives with it

i am using it for gaming, photo editing and sound mixing

    i'll look into WD
