What's the fastest way to lose 50 lbs? v.prepforcollege

    I'm 5'9 and weigh 210....my goal is to be at 160 or so.

    I want to start a healthy weight-loss routine right now that I can carry on doing when I'm in college in September.

    When it comes to weightlighting and fitness...I'm not very knowledgable so please educate me :bigthumb:

    Excercise

    I recently just started hitting the tracks 4 times a week...

    Run a lap
    Walk a lap

    Add 2 laps for next time.
    Is this an effective method?

    During off-days, I use this pathetic "home-gym"...I also have dumbells. Where can I find out the techniques to do a certain exercise? I have no idea what someone means when they say "Deadlifts". As for the routine, I guess I'll just pick one under fat-loss from the sticky?

    Diet

    I have a slight idea on what are good/bad foods...but not yet a meal plan. How many meals a day? Snacks? And what to eat for the meals? Please help me here...I want a list of things I can go out and buy and I'll be set for a month.

    prep for college? surely you mean college next year right, not next month's fall semester? because there is no fucking way you will lose 50lbs by the end of august.

    ok, well please search first this same post is made like 8 times day. I'll even respond for you:

    Diet and exercise. :eek5:
    Dont worry about the details, if you make any kind of real attempt to move more and stop eating large amounts of shit food I promise you'll make alot of progress in 8-10weeks.

    Read stickies for aditional info, fitness is a longterm thing too, you dont just drop a few pounds in the next few weeks, that is just pointless.

    You're not going to lose 50lbs in a month or two, sorry.

    Basically, lift heavy weights to preserve muscle. Reduce calories to lose weight. Since you're lifting, that weight will mostly be lost as fat.

    For your diet, track it on www.fitday.com
    Get at least 200g protein, 80g fats and whatever you want for carbs every day. Shoot for around 2500kcal... this might be too low/high for you, but you'll have to exeriment to find out what works well for you.

    Add in moderate cardio a few days a week, but remember that fat loss is mostly diet.

    Yay another lazy person who suddenly realized they start school in a month and wants to magically lose weight.

    You should've started at the beginning of the summer but keep up the running, don't eat like shit and lift. If you have access to a gym I'd use that.

    1- stop eating for 30 days (also keep water to a minimum so there is little bloat)
    2- 100 up downs in a sauna per day
    3- run 20 miles per day
    4- westside barbell training

    it can be done within reasonable goals.
    i lost 40lbs +/- two months from today (may 21st).
    but i highly doubt you can handle what i'm currently going through.

    Try cutting for a competition (not bodybuilding), then talk about going through hell. 15 pounds in 30 hours. Worst day of my life.
