between a LS1 MAF and a LS6 MAF?
I dont know. Maybe some more info would help. Life wtf are you talking about?
I'm pretty sure if you don't know what a MAF is, you won't be able to answer my question
It's the Mass Airflow sensor.
I believe, but am not 100% sure, that the LS1 MAF is slightly smaller, whereas the LS6 MAF has a bigger diameter. I think it's 75mm versus 78, something to that effect. I'd have to look it up, but I think that's the only difference, off hand.
Actually the Z06 one is 85mm. But 95% of people will tell you it is a waste of money to get a new MAF. Lots of people end up running slower after switching, and after the PCM relearns it. However i have seen people gain from switching one out at the track. It takes the PCM a little bit to learn the flow and all, so I have seen people swapped out a ported and descreened one, and pick up a consistent tenth in the 1/4. Take that for what it is worth. I'd try a search on www.ls1tech.com or www.cz28.com and do a search and read what some people have to say.
Thanks. The MAF is going to go on my GTP so I can run an alky kit safer.
LS6 MAF is 85-90mm.. LS1 is 75-78mm..
Your onboard ECU will read the airflow and compensate however, so a LS6 MAF is pointless on a LS1 intake, where as a LS1 MAF is pointless on a LS6 Intake..
And if your wondering about LS1 VS LS6 intake manifolds, again, its port size and airflow. LS6 intake's also are not equipped with EGR Emissions Systems. Check any 01-02 LSX Powered Vehicle and youll see what I mean..
I just have a hand ported throttlebody and descreened MAF.. The TB made a huge difference in 90+hp pulls..
