:dunno: about which is best but I have a dell inspiron 8000 and am really happy with it - although I have several friends who bought latitudes at around the same time and have had problems with fans, rechargers, and hard drives :dunno:

If you buy a cheap notebook, it is going to have a lot of problems. I can vouch for this having done work for both Gateway and Dell. The cheaper models are total pieces of shit. They always have the most hardware failures. It is like they don't even do decent R&D on these things.

Their higher end models are excellent though.

If you're asking for a name brand, Dell would be my choice.

:wiggle: Proud owner here. Though it seems alot of them fuck up, and they have crappy service, and their prices are high for the specs.

But they have the most gorgeous laptops

I haven't had hardly any problems with my HP notebook, and the three problems I did have got solved in less than 30 minutes with HP Instant Support, any time of day.

    And they're purty.
