What's the best, most accurate video converter?

    I need to get a good ACCURATE (i.e. sound sync) video converter program to convert movies and videos to MP4 for ipod..

    Any good recommendations?

    handbrake is good for ripping DVD's to different formats. if you use it with DVD's, i recommend using mactheripper to copy the DVD (or just the main feature) to your hard drive first, then using handbrake on the hard drive copy. saves time and battery. i had some problems wiht handbrake's mp4s and avi's when trying to stream them over my network.

    isquint is a free version of visualhub, and it works for converting to ipod. definitely try it.

    visualhub is something i use all the time with video conversions. literally throw anything into it and it'll come out in any file type / format you want. i've never had a problem with audio sync. their software is so good i didn't hesitate when they came out with their new audio encoding proggie.

    I'll definitely check out Visual Hub tonight.

    I want something professional quality, even though its for personal use.
