I have an old ATI Radeon 9600PRO card that works semi-decent. I can play BF1942 and most other common FPS games at medium detail. I'm happy if I can average 30-40fps.

Is there a better AGP card that's significantly better than my 9600PRO that's not expensive? :hsd:

You can get ATI 1600s for $100, look on newegg for ones with rebates or on ebay. Of course you could wait for black friday too.

    That day freaking scares me.

I'll go to the electronic stores, but that's about it.

Go to Walmart and you'll get your ass ran over in my area. :noes:

    The day after Thanksgiving.

The largest day of the year for retailers.

Oh. I didn't realize the day after thanksgiving had a name.

Thursday: "Lord Jesus, bless this meal and the fortunate souls who are about to eat it, Amen."

Friday: "Get the fuck away from my shit goddammit! I'll cut your goddamn hands off!"

AGP = congested highway, during rush hour.

    PCI-E - Autobahn.

buyer beware... I still use AGP and I know that it wouldn't be as easy as buying a new mobo just to get a PCI-E video card. With my processor and current ram, i'd probably have to replace those as well. If your processor/ram are older, they most likely won't work in new motherboards.

If you are using a 754 chipset like I am, newegg has 3 mobo's that have pci-e. all for under 90.

    For only $300.

I'm just going to go with the Best Buy day after thanksgiving, stand in line and hope for the best. retail on the x1600pro agp is $205 at BB, and they are running it for $100. If I don't get one, I'll just keep gimping along with my 9700 pro aiw pos.
