    yes, no.

from my (limited) experience with them, they seem WAY to unbalanced by the rail. Also, I have heard that both the SOCOM 16 and the SOCOM II have some reliability problems due to the shorter barrel.

Personally, I don't think they make much sense at all, and I know my local shops don't even stock them anymore.

I've never known what all the hooplah was about them. Personally I'll never buy one.

Looks like a bubba'ed new, old style rifle.

Original M1A for that price FTW

I'd much rather have a full size for less money.

Waste of money, and thats ridiculously priced you can find them for less, $1700 is almost enough for a Fulton M1A. Springfields quality control on their M1's has been pretty shitty lately.

I was just holding one the other day. The MSRP is even rediculously higher than that $1,700. It feels very awkward and the stock feels very light and cheap.

No way I'd ever consider one.

except fulton doesn't make a 16" M1A so springfield pretty much has the market cornered on this one...

must be an invite only thing like the Enzo because i've never seen anything less than an 18.5" barrel as an option on their site.

My Gander wants $1999 for them. You can get it at gun shows left and right for $1500.

Got mine for $1200 with a few hundred rounds through it. It's a decent gun and I've had zero problems with it. Granted if I wasn't in California I'd much rather have a FAL or AR10 :x:

its probably one of my most favorite guns. I have over 10,000 rounds through it and has Never jammed. I love the gun. It gives the power of a .308 in a comfortable carbine.

I want a FAL but if I could only have one I like my M1A more, more accurate then the couple FAL's I've shot were.

BTW I just have the regular Socom 16, those rails are overkill. M1A is great but even bigger and heavier.
