pocket wizards look huge and antiquated compared to CyberCyncs. Like Zack Morris' cell phone riding on top of your DSLR, especially the old school blue ones that David Hobby has

    pocket wizard = industry standard

esp for pjs going to major events that need multi or custom channels

easy to borrow or purchase in a bind

    lots of programmable features

    multimax ftw

next step up are flash wizards for more intricate synchronization

I'm going to guess that they are either:

    cheap shit for tightasses or
a more ...flashy system to match that new colour lcd one Tard Luap has a picture of on his website.

No one saw this coming? The PW are on rebate to clear out inventory to make way for the new product launch.

no details that I've seen but some speculation that it might include radio as well (like the radio poppers)

now is the time to buy if you're looking for PW2's though as the rebate is almost over. Amazon had them for like 160 something, and the rebate brought it down to the 140's.

as for the new version...I'm interested to see if it's going to somehow work in TTL, the Radio Poppers managed to get TTL to work, but PW doesn't.

RadioPoppers just announced that their new X system can do High Speed Sync up to 1/8000 on ABs and other strobe systems...

    http://radiopopper.com/blog/?p=69

This is going to get interesting...
