I've been lurking for a while now and have never seen them mentioned.

Anyone know the cheapest place to buy Zero Impact Bars?

I carry a bunch in my car so when I get REALLY hungry and I don't wanna eat any pizza or junk like that I eat one to hold me over til I get home and eat something good.

there was a thread with a shitload of protein bar recipes not too long ago. I'd do a search, but no sub for home.

The ones I made were delicious but, similar to reports from other people in the thread, they never fully dried so they were really just a protein paste rather than a protein bar. For stuff on the run I don't know... don't power bars have only like 150 cals and 16g protein? better than nothing but i'd rather just stop somewhere and get a small bite to eat.

Most are just glorified candy bars with some whey added. Real food is your friend.

at over 2 bucks a pop, i'd pass as a replacement for whey... but, afterall, it is portable.

If you don't care about the money, why not :dunno:

I only eat them on the very rare occasion that I wont be able to get to food. Which is like, once every couple of months.

Nothing you couldn't get from real food. I rarely eat bars because if I am going to get a bar it'll be at a gas station and if I'm at a gas station I'd rather eat 2 mystery hot dogs and actually satiate my hunger than waste money on a candy bar with some soy protein and vitamins. Just me though..

I ordered 2 boxes of those a year or so ago, they taste like cardboard dipped in ass...

I keep a box of Next Detour Bars on hand for last minute meals. My Walmart had Next bars last time I checked.

IDS Research makes a bar with 42 grams of protein and very low carb. It tastes ok.

I am really not too big on them. Half of them taste like shit, and most of the ones that do actually taste good either have insane amounts of total fat and saturated fat or the ones that taste good have less than 15g of protein. I have found a couple brands I like to use, but I keep the protein bars to a miniumum because they usually make you feel like you ate a brick.

When you are on the go and feeling hungry and need something to kick-start your metabolism because you won't be eating for a while they are not bad at all.
