I think it'll be my next car...I really liked it when I checked it out at the Mazda dealer. It gets damn good reviews, too...seems like just enough power for what I want, good price, practicality, RWD, FANTASTIC shifter, and drop-dead sexy.

    I dig it. Any input?

The Mazdaspeed version looks 10 times better than the regular one when put side by side. I've driven it, didnt much care for it, the 6 almost felt more like a sports car than it did.

Nice, but it needs a bit more torque.

Yeah, the Mazdaspeed version seems pretty cool, but likely it'll be more than I feel like spending.

Before I thought they sucked. However, now they have kind of grown on me and I love them with some bodykits.

Just remember, like the old RX-7's, this car is made to be run hard. It doesnt like it when its not. Dont put it up the driveway 20 feet and then shut it off, becuase itll probaly put itself in a flooded condition, youll just have to rev it up a bit before you turn it off. Other than that, they are great cars. I drive them at work all the time after preventative maintenence work (i work in service dept at a mazda dealership)

Torque is a luxury, not a necessity. :fawk:

I'd *love* to have an RX-8. Looks like a great way for me to slip back into a rotary powered car.

I absolutely LOVE the four-door design. So practical, yet is still very rigid.

Rumored to have a convertible coming, too...it would make sense.

Didn't Mazda build a fuel cutoff switch into the gas pedal? As in, if the car isn't started you can push the gas pedal to the floor and it won't pump gas to the engine until you let off.

My old '89 RX-7 flooded every now and then... that little trick always worked to get it unflooded.

I think it's pretty cool, I'd give one a serious look if the GTO didn't exist.

The same guy who styled it also styled the new F-150. :o

i love the way it looks. but im still making up my mind about rotaries.

if only they made that body w/ an i6 or something. it'd be sweet.

The new rotaries have very few of the old one's problems. Most of the flooding issues wer caused by leaky injectors, not the rotary design itself. A good cleaning would easily remedy this problem. My T2 has none of such problems. Starts right up every single time, no problem.
