    I just ordered a D50 with the 18-55 lens.

I'm going to be taking pictures of watches about ~ 4 inches away from the watch.

Do I need a new lens, or just some sort of filter for the lens I have?

Any info or links to order would be great :)

You can either buy a macro lens, or use a +4 magnifying filter on your 18-55 lens.

Do not listen to any of the people above me^^^

Save your money and get extension tubes

They do a better job then an afordable macro lens

I would listen to the guy suggesting a Tamron than someone that doesn't know the difference between than and then.

Extension tubes are not bad but they are no replacement for a macro lens. Don't get a huge extension tube though. Mine is like a 12mm and it is almost too much on my 50mm.

Here's some kenko extension tubes. I've played with them in the store a little bit.

It says it's out of stock, but we do have some. Call the toll-free number, and let them know you have some questions about extension tubes. We'll help you out to dcide if it's what you need or not.
