I noticed it being used alot in F&N. What does HIIT stand for?
High Intensity Interval Training
Basically it's all-out cardio for a period of time (a few mins), then dropping back to regular cardio, then back to all-out.
It is supposed to burn more fat.
hiit and anything like it is teh devil
Nothing wrong with a bit of cardio. HIIT is fairly intensive though, as it's name suggests.
it sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do
what does it usually consist of?
run full speed for a couple mins then jog for 1 or so, then repeat
go real fast slow down go real fast slow down go real fast slow down go real fast slow down puke
you'd be able to do the same with any cardio excercise right? ie. bike fullspeed, slow down, fullspeed, etc. and same with situps/crunches?
wouldn't you lose more fat going fullspeed the entire time? o0
this thread makes me sigh
You burn more over a longer period of time, it's all about homeostasis. This should be in the archives somewhere it has to be.
why is HIIT the devil? I thought it was good to burn fat and retain lbm.
It hurts it makes you puke etc. if you like these things then no its not the devil if not then its the devil, facilitator of a necesary evil that is effective cardio.
i lost a lot of bf doing it, so
and i didn't puke or anything
Take some GHB to burn fat.
I don't read here enough to have seen this. Could you point me in the right direction?
what kind of cardio would people here recommend then?
incline walking for 45 min. thats the only cardio i'll ever do.
i used to run for 3 miles before. that sucked
so incline walking burns fat and retains lbm well?
I did tabata today (but I pussied out) not quite 20sec reps, 10 sec rest. more like, 20, 20
i'm not sure, to be honest.
i do know that the big guys do this, so i'm sure it doesn't hurt.
christophers, u gotta link to the thread with your explanation?
