yeah, but more over, how is he going to watch anime? remote desktopping it would just end up using more bw than just downloading.

TheUltimateNewb (12:29:02 AM): hmm waht am i gonna do when i get to college
TheUltimateNewb (12:29:07 AM): i won't be able to upload shit anymore :o
wiredout46 (12:29:17 AM): lol, what school you going to again?
wiredout46 (12:29:20 AM): i remember it was a pretty leet one
    TheUltimateNewb (12:29:22 AM): cornell
    wiredout46 (12:29:25 AM): right
TheUltimateNewb (12:29:32 AM): they have an incredibly gay internet policy
TheUltimateNewb (12:29:45 AM): we only get 5GB of download traffic
TheUltimateNewb (12:29:49 AM): and then we have to pay for overages
    wiredout46 (12:29:50 AM): hahahahahhaha
wiredout46 (12:29:54 AM): that is terrible
    wiredout46 (12:29:56 AM): absolutely
    TheUltimateNewb (12:29:57 AM): i'm fucked
TheUltimateNewb (12:30:05 AM): my bill is gonna be so bad :o
wiredout46 (12:30:14 AM): maybe ot anime crew can work something out for you
TheUltimateNewb (12:30:27 AM): one of the guys said i should just do a remote desktop thing :o
wiredout46 (12:30:33 AM): remote desktop ftl
    TheUltimateNewb (12:30:36 AM): why
wiredout46 (12:30:43 AM): you'll waste all your bandwidth transmitting the images and shit through internets
    TheUltimateNewb (12:30:51 AM): oh
    wiredout46 (12:31:38 AM): plus it'll be choppy
wiredout46 (12:32:08 AM): and you'll waste more bandwidth transmitting the commands and images of your desktop and computer opening your folder and shit
    TheUltimateNewb (12:32:14 AM): :hs:
TheUltimateNewb (12:32:18 AM): what to do then :o
wiredout46 (12:32:43 AM): if you don't mind waiting, i wouldn't mind burning you a dvd of the shit
TheUltimateNewb (12:32:47 AM): i don't think i'll have a problem getting files since cornell has a DC++ hub with tons of shit
wiredout46 (12:33:00 AM): or do you have a laptop?
TheUltimateNewb (12:33:01 AM): but i dunno if i can wait :o
    TheUltimateNewb (12:33:05 AM): uhh nope
wiredout46 (12:36:43 AM): hm.. i've got portable memory that we could mail and and forth :o
    TheUltimateNewb (12:36:49 AM): :o
TheUltimateNewb (12:37:19 AM): well i'll go up there first, see how the situation is, and then discuss with everyone on OT :o
    wiredout46 (12:37:29 AM): yep

That means he won't be able to watch anything either way, I don't think remote desktopping uses much bandwidth for either user, and it would be using the bandwidth of his computer at home to download/upload.

 :o Cornell has a pretty good DC++ hub from what I hear, so I just need to see how fast new anime gets on there. If I can get someone else to waste their bandwidth and put it up for me, I won't need to pay for shit. :o

he uploads for us, every time he goes home he burns eps to CD/DVD to watch when he goes back to school :dunno:

depends on how often he goes home.

Do what I did in school, Multiple network cards. At my peak I had 5 of them in my desktop :mamoru: My school logged transfer by IP and Mac adress, I don't know if that'll work at cornell, but it may. Also my school refreshed the 5gb transfer every 7 days. So I would just cycle through the cards as I used up the bandwith.
Also my friend went to Cornell as well and he was sufficently caught up on anime. Albit he wasn't a big anime buff but he was up to date and caught up on most popular anime's.
Worst case scenario Mail dvds or exchanging external harddrives of 300gb or more full of anime :hs:

internet at broadband speeds in most major cities, wherever you get a verizon signal. cost is 79 dollers a month for unlimited data plan but hey you can use it anyplace. 59 if you already have verizon.

cingular has the same type of thing.
