Hey guys, I've narrowed it down to the ID MAX or a JL W7 12. Was wondering what your opinions/comparison on the ID MAX. I've listened to them both and it's hard to tell. Experiences and opinions needed. I know the ID MAX is a great bang for the buck but honestly when it comes to quality subs, a couple hundred bucks doesn't matter to me. I'll be running either sub with my HIFONICS gen XI Zeus amp. Thanks

IDMAX all the way, W7 is way overrated and overpriced.

    ID>Roadgear>Jensen>JL

The idmaxes I have heard have all be great and very loud too. its also 1/2 the price of a w7.

I was not aware that Bose made a sub for car audio.

I would go with the ID Max I mean the JL is nice but it is expensive for what you get

The w7 is just as good if not a better performer than the IDMax. However, are you willing to pay that much more for the w7? Not me.

when is the newer ID MAX due out? What kind of changes do we expect from them. From what I heard, the only new thing is that there will be a 10 inch woofer version. Please let me know as this is critical to my install. IF it's coming out soon or if it's going to be that much better, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. thanks for all the replies

I paid $250 for my 12 IDMAX, and that's considerably less than the W7.

Am I happy with my IMDAX? Hell yes and that's all I care about.

BTW, it sounds tight clean and LOUD with my PPI PCX2200 (800 watts of underrated power)

Okay, I'm planning to upgrade my sub setup soon and thinking of going with a 12" IDMAX or a 12" Brahma. Basically, it will all come down to price since I was told it they should perform at about the same levels.

These questions are basically directed to LOUDSYSTEM, but if anyone else knows the answers, please feel free to chime in.

How will the new IDMAX10 sound compared to the current IDMAX12? Will there be a newer IDMAX12 out? Also, is it possible to invertly mount the sub and still have it perform well?

My god man. Photoshop is the key.

  23. I have the same setup that you're going for. It's a nice and clean loud bass. Go with the IDMAX. No complaints here.

Dirtysam. I have the hifonics Zeus XI and my 2 ID MAX's should be here any day now. I have couple of questions. Would I be better of running just one of the subs and selling the other off? I mean as far as SPL and sound quality, IF I run both subs I know they will be underpowered as the ID MAX is happiest around 1000 watts. I can't afford another amp so what do you think is best? should I run just one sub or run them both from my Zeus. Also, I love your enclosure for the 2 max's let me know if you have any tips in building an enclosure for these monsters.

Loudsystem, thanks so much for your info. You made my decision easy!:slap:
