I've started getting myself into a morning and nightly ritual for some exercise and have been doine some short jogging routes (about 2 or 3 miles) in the morning and short ( 1 mile ) jog at night. I have a pool in my backyard that I hardly ever use, and I was wondering: What would be more effective in the morning? Doing 30 minutes of cardio by jogging, 30 minutes of cardio by swimming, or combining the two and doing a little jogging and a little swimming? I'm just looking to slim down a bit because this desk job is kicking me off cycle. The pool is a standard L inground pool (shaped like an L). I guess it couldn't hurt to do both? Just want to see what you guys think is the best way to do cardio in the morning.
