I can't remember if it's Phenom or if they have something else in the works.

K10 Family up to early 2009

Barcelona and Budapest for servers, then the Phenoms: Agena FX (high end quads), Agena (quads), Toliman (tri-cores), and Kuma (dual cores)

A more intelligent mind might have realize that the OP (i.e myself) cares.

I support AMD because they keep the innovation moving along. If AMD weren't there to threaten to make Intel look like a bunch of monkeys every time a new architecture comes out, Intel would look like a bunch of monkeys a lot more often. And the best part is, I'm not even really missing anything by going with AMD; I just don't get the pretty numbers on the intel-favored benchmarks.

I guess going with AMD gives you more time for bathroom breaks and phone calls.... Because real-world the Intel has been noticably faster.

We all know (you included) that Intel spent years barking up the wrong tree with the Pentium 4. They're sitting pretty right now, but that will only last until the next architecture refresh -- and they don't have the benefit of being the only one of the two CPU companies that also makes its own motherboards anymore.

you may not remember this, but AMD already tried making their own mobos. They fucking sucked, so they stopped making them. Buying shitty ATi chipsets and branding them as AMD is not gonna change that.

    I don't remember that, no.

No great loss, though, there will still be plenty of 3rd party motherboards running nVidia and VIA chipsets.

yes. If you *had* to run an AMD cpu, I'd recommend one utilizing the nForce chipset.

Luckily, very few people HAVE to run AMD cpus....
